O! Nadine, honey, is that you? –Chuck BERRY
WHEN WE DECIDED TO STICK OUR NECK OUT, TO PREDICT THE NIGERIAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, we started on one plank: I don’t like Buhari. I don’t like Atiku. I think they are not what they claim: Buhari wanted to prove that he could win the Presidency. He did. We thank him for the effort. Atiku has so many scores to settle .He felt the Presidency was/is the only way, he could get back at his “detractors”..I THINK THE BOTH OF THEM ARE FRAUDS. However, we sent our pollsters, all over the country to gauge the direction of the wind.
In its 16 years in power in Nigeria, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), divided Nigeria, into six geopolitical zones-North East, North West, North Central, South South, South East and South West. And accordingly zoned political power, in their party to those zones. Thus, at the beginning of its 16 year reign, in 1999, the PDP zoned the Presidency to the South West. THIS PRODUCED a monster in the person of General Olusegun Obasanjo. The North West was given the Vice Presidential slot. It produced a hustler/conman. From 1999 – 2007, General Olusegun Obasanjo reigned supreme – an imperial dictator, who threw away all pretensions to democratic values. Recall that it was Obasanjo, a democratically elected President, who ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to arrest, publicly handcuff and parade a democratically elected Governor of Bayelsa State, like a common criminal. But, isn’t a thief by whatever definition a COMMON CRIMINAL?
O! Nadine, honey, is that you?

On February,16,2019,the Independent Electoral Commission(INEC) whether deliberately or inadvertently, changed Nigeria’s Destiny: By the singular act of “postponing” the Presidential and National Assembly Elections, INEC took hold of our collective anger; of our determined March to effect changes in our polity. INEC, without prompting, said 72 million Nigerians were qualified to vote and achieve their hearts’ promptings’ So, what happened? INEC took hold of our collective anger: Some of us felt President Buhari had NOT DONE ENOUGH. “Enough” translated into improving the Nigerian Economy. Other fellow Nigerians didn’t even know what was wrong. We knew the road repairs, the new rail lines, the new airports; even the new supermarkets weren’t what we were missing, Nigerians were missing 16 years of delusions, unbridled profligacy. The crazy Nigerian Media had continuously “agenda set” our minds, The Media had set our consciousness to a rejection of any “change” proposed by Buhari. They refused to apportion any blame to the preceding 16 years of profligacy by the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).For 16 years, Nigerians dreamed on. And on. We still can’t fathom why we’re sinking like the Dinosaurs, our brains couldn’t tell us to flee from the great walls of ice crashing down on us .Even when top members of the Cabinet were screaming caution – like Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Charles Soludo and Sanusi Lamido, internationally RESPECTED personalities, they were virtually hounded into pariah-hood. THE lapdogs and the professional hangers-on, called them all sorts of names. Minions, like Nasir El Rufai, whose facility at changing objects of worship, is frightening.
SO, INEC, in a surprising move, reined in our collective anger, by postponing the Presidential Elections; AND, FOISTING on us, President Buhari – for another FOUR years…
O! Nadine, honey, is that you?

On 23 FEBRUARY,2019, we, the 72 million Nigerians, led ourselves to the slaughter. Either way, any of the two main candidates, was not a princely option. We surprised ourselves, by the large turnouts, across the Country. Not even, the homegrown BOKO HARAM, could stop us. Our massive turnout, wasn’t what surprised us. It was that we had been taken by the GREATEST POLITICAL SLEIGHT OF HAND IN HISTORY. The antics of Ibrahim Babangida, that earned the nickname, Maradona ,the dubious, but, effective advice of Machiavelli, the uncanny perceptions of Chief Awolowo and the slyness of Olusegun Obasanjo – pale into insignificance and amateurism, in the face of this political genius: By postponing the Presidential Elections, from 16 February to 23 FEBRUARY ,the Evil Genius, achieved TWO GOALS :Our determined anger was REINED IN –and we now were forced to have time to PAUSE and weigh the “differences” between a continued Buhari Presidency and a dark, unpredictable and thoroughly scary bogeyman, Atiku Presidency. The 2nd Great GOAL was that we ignored all Buhari’s “failings” and voted him in…. for another FOUR YEARS, of collective, shared national pain (?)
So, Buhari WON!
So, Buhari won, against the minority expectations of the foolish, unthinking, deluded Nigerian “Elite” So, we predict a Buhari victory. And, INEC has foisted another FOUR years on Nigeria.
